National Apprenticeship Week 2026: 9-15th February
A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.
A wide range of programmes are available, including operational roles such a Funeral Operative and Mortuary Technician.
White Dove Funerals currently have their very own apprentice, and Kelly Funeral Service Arranger would like to share her thoughts.
“For nine years, I worked as a Funeral Arranger at White Dove. When we joined Funeral Partners, it marked a significant turning point, not only for the business but for me personally. This transition provided a valuable opportunity to further develop my professional identity and build on the experience I’d gained over the years.
I spoke with my Area Development Manager, Emma, about ways to formalise and strengthen my skills. She recommended the Level 2 Funeral Arranger Apprenticeship, which really appealed to me, given my enthusiasm for learning and my appreciation for structured development.
I began the apprenticeship in January 2025, with guidance from my tutor, Chris. Now, as I approach my final exams, I can honestly say the experience has been nothing short of transformative. The apprenticeship has broadened my knowledge far beyond my expectations, boosted my confidence where I once felt unsure, and deepened my overall understanding of the funeral profession. Most importantly, it’s enabled me to approach my role with greater assurance and purpose, introducing me to new aspects of funeral arranging and inspiring ongoing personal and professional growth.
Looking back, I am certain that pursuing the apprenticeship was the right decision I had made not only from a career perspective but also for my personal growth. It has increased my confidence, enhanced my practice, and equipped me with skills that will continue to shape my professional journey for years to come.”
